XRP Faces Fresh Selling Pressure as Exchange Reserves Climb

XRP faces fresh selling pressure as exchange reserves climb. CryptoQuant data shows XRP held on exchanges reached 11.81 billion on 17 October.

That level ranks in the 99th percentile of the past year. More coins on exchanges means more supply ready to trade.

What Do the Reserve Numbers Show?

Exchange wallets added about 84 million XRP between 12 and 15 October. Large holders also sent 1.66 billion XRP to Binance over 30 days, a seven-month high.

The picture is not uniform. Binance holds about 2.67 billion XRP, only the 30th percentile of its yearly range.

Other venues therefore drove much of the rise. Supply trends differ by asset, as Ethereum exchange liquidity hit a 7-month low on Binance.

Why Is Selling Pressure Not a Sure Thing?

A reserve balance does not show intent to sell. Exchange tracking also depends on which addresses a provider labels, and proof of reserves is not proof of solvency in the same way.

Leverage has already dropped. Binance open interest fell 15.8% to $453M, and long liquidations hit $25.7M on 7 and 8 October.

CryptoOnchain says leverage reset faster than exchange supply. Demand has softened too, since U.S. spot XRP ETFs lost $1.84M last week and ended a 13-week inflow streak.

XRP Tests $1.26 Before a Bounce

At about 10:55 UTC on 19 October 2026, XRP traded at $1.30. That is down 7.2% over seven days. The BTC pair stood at 0.00001583.

The seven-day chart opens near $1.40 on 13 October. Price dipped to about $1.32 that day, then rose to $1.375 on 14 October.

XRP slid to about $1.29 on 15 October and bounced to $1.345 on 16 October. Sellers returned on 17 October. Price drifted lower and touched a low near $1.26 on 19 October.

A rebound back to $1.31 followed. The CryptoQuant chart shows total reserves near 11.8 billion XRP, up from about 11.55 billion in the summer.

Signals That Would Tilt the Balance

Watch deposits first. Large inflows to exchanges would add to the bearish case. Watch ETF flows next. Renewed inflows would show that buyers are still present.

Ripple’s network growth also counts, as XRP Ledger RWA transfer volume hit $7.03B. Supply is building while leverage drains. The next few weeks will show who absorbs it.
