Ethereum’s ETF Battle Intensifies as BlackRock Outflows Meet Grayscale Inflows
Ethereum’s ETF battle intensifies as BlackRock outflows meet Grayscale inflows. U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs took in a net $14.9M on 21 October, Farside Investors data shows.

That ended five straight sessions of outflows. BlackRock clients sold $29.3M of ETH on the same day.
What Happened on 21 October?
Grayscale’s Ethereum Mini Trust led with $28.1M in inflows. Fidelity’s FETH added $13.0M.
Morgan Stanley’s MSSE took in $1.3M, while Bitwise’s ETHW and Franklin’s EZET each added $0.9M. BlackRock’s ETHA was the only fund with outflows.
Total net assets stand at about $15.36B, or 5.05% of ETH’s market cap, SoSoValue data shows.
Why Are Flows Splitting?
Fees may play a part. The table shows ETHA charges 0.25%. Grayscale’s Mini Trust charges 0.15%, and MSSE charges 0.14%.
Grayscale’s older ETHE charges 2.50% and has seen zero flows. Fee pressure is not unique to Ethereum, as BlackRock keeps launching new ETFs and rivals compete on cost.
Hong Kong shows the same fee war, where a second Solana ETF undercuts the first. The scale of ETHA’s losses is still large.
It recorded outflows in 12 of 13 sessions since 5 October, about $934M in total. All funds together lost about $977M over that stretch. Fees alone do not explain that.
ETH Slips From Today’s Peak
At about 09:25 UTC on 22 October 2026, ETH traded at $2,402.71. That is up 1.3% over seven days. The BTC pair stood at 0.02937993.
The seven-day chart opens near $2,370 on 16 October. Price rallied to about $2,475 that day, then slid to a low near $2,335 on 19 October.

A spike to about $2,470 came on 21 October, and ETH climbed to a peak near $2,515 early on 22 October. Sellers then took over. Price dropped about 4.4% from that peak to the current level.
A Streak Worth Watching
One inflow day does not end a trend. Grayscale’s Mini Trust now holds about $2.0B in cumulative inflows, and ETHA holds $12.3B.
Global access is widening too, as Thailand’s Bitcoin and Ether ETF rules start in October, though approval is not automatic. The next few flow reports will show if cheaper funds keep winning the daily fight.
